The Calumet South Loop allows trains to pass each other. It is the only passing siding on the C&SFT. Here an eastbound EJ&E local and westbound IHB loco and caboose pass each other.

A view of the Interchange Yard trackage from near the RIP Track, looking east. The 'kink' in the middle track is there because I didn't want the turnout leading to the RIP facility to be over a baseboard join. You can probably perceive the slight curve in the track at the right hand side of the photo! That curve meant the inbound track in the middle also had to have a kink in it.
There is probably a prototype for this type of track arrangement somewhere - if anyone knows of one, let me know!

3 Cars of food products for Midwest Foods, Calumet South. These cars originated on the Mosquito Pass RR, and were virtually interchanged to arrive at the C&SFT via IHB's Blue Island yard. Here, #1519 starts to move them from the Interchange Yard to Midwest Foods.

This car is loaded with Chlorine and is bound for the Mosquito Pass RR, via virtual interchange. The train crews handling this car between the C&SFT Interchange Yard and it's destination will need to have at least 1 car between the loco and this car for safety reasons.
